{Day 89}

This part of my journey is quickly coming to a close.  Tomorrow marks the 10 day countdown.  Wow.  WOW.  I’m sad.  Even though only a handful of people knew about the blog/project before May I have been thinking and praying about it since January.  This project has been a part of my life this entire year.  There are so many moments that I just stop and go “I can’t believe I’m doing this!”  When I looked at the woman who inspired this type of fundraiser last year I thought, “That is a brilliant idea, but there’s no way I could do that.”  It’s true that I’m not going for a year like her, but I will have done 100 days by the end of this project.  Are there things in your life that you long to do but are to afraid to do?  Things on a list tucked away and almost but not quite forgotten?  Crazy things that are so far removed from your everyday routine.  Please don’t think that it will happen “some day”.  Why not make someday today?  That’s all you really have is now.  I’m definitely not saying it will be easy.  This whole adventure for me has been fairly difficult.  It is a privilege that I will always be grateful for but it has been stretching as I knew it would be.  Despite the challenges I have experienced much joy.  I will never regret doing this.  I don’t think you will regret making your list a reality either.  What is it that you secretly dream of doing but just haven’t made the leap to do?   Go do it!

Please help our sweet little orphans today by donating so that they too can dream.

Sharon Blair, a Portland based designer, who runs Studio SKB graciously offered to lend me this stunning jacket.  She offers “Sustainable fashion with a vintage touch.  Locally made, locally owned quality apparel, design and classes.” I am so grateful to her for helping me out.  Thank you so much Sharon!

Hey Elaini… I just wanted to stop by and encourage you and say congratulations for raising over $12,000. Even if you don’t reach your goal, $12,000 is still a LOT of money and will do SO much for the orphans!

But who knows… there are still 10 days left and God can do anything!

Hello Elizabeth! Thanks for the encouragement! I really appreciate it.

And yes since I’m already crazy enough to wear 1 dress for this long I’m sure you can imagine that I’m still praying we reach the goal! 😀 God can do anything is right!

Elaini, you captured this high fashion look perfectly! So sophisticated, gorgeous!
Your post today is also so very inspiring. Time to take those dreams off the shelf, dust them off and get going! No more sabotaging. By the grace of God amazing things will be accomplished. The things that God is doing through this project, I’m sure, are unlocking chains of fear and apathy in your readers everywhere. I know it has with me. Thank you for your boldness to keep moving forward in faithfulness.

That black and white one of you is STUNNING!
Funny to read the other comments were my thoughts as well. I wanted to encourage you to not be dismayed….and like one comment above: God can still do amazing things! Look how amazing this has already turned out! Praising God with you. ♥

Hey, Elaini! I just wanted to drop you a quick note of encouragement. I’ve followed your journey during all 100 days, and I just want to say that your adventure has been amazing to me for the following reasons:

    (1) You stepped outside your comfort zone . . . by God’s grace.
    (2) You drew attention to the least of these from far and wide . . . by God’s grace.
    (3) You completed this project while overcoming significant health challenges . . . by God’s grace.
    (4) You raised over $10,000. That’s a thousand dollars a day, on average. God’s grace in that is unmistakable!
    (5) Some people, during or after failing to obtain a particular goal, destroy all evidence that they ever tried. Instead of throwing in the towel when it became evident that you probably would not reach your $50,000 goal in 100 days, you plugged away in faithfulness. All by God’s grace!

    Praying for you!

Hello Hello HELLO!!!! I can’t even begin to say how happy your comment makes me. Thanks for sticking with me this whole time. 🙂
God has been SO faithful to me and to his children in India. And call me crazy but I still think we have a chance to raise the $50K. 😀 (Maybe that’s what wearing 1 dress for so long does to you…) Regardless God is always good in what he does.

You have been such an amazing follower! 😀 Thank you! I am curious to know how you found out about the project?

      • M.J.A. August 4, 2011 at 2:46 pm #

I heard about it through my sister who heard about it on Facebook from Exodus Books. We also know the owner from a previous church that we attended.

Wow that’s neat! Thanks for sharing. 😀 I totally know about Exodus books. 🙂

Your welcome. Do you shop at Exodus books? I think it’s kind of funny how everybody knows each other. Because you know Christa Taylor, and my sister looks at her blog sometimes even before we found out you knew each other! And we both know Exodus books. You know the Harris brothers and we’ve heard of them! It’s a small world.
