“On the third day of Christmas my true love gave to me, three French hens.”
Hello everyone! Today’s fashion look for day 3 was inspired by vintage French dressing and the colors and feathers of a red hen. I met Marissa when she was 17 and in the hospital bravely battling cancer. Four years later this amazing lady has run a marathon, competed in the Miss Oregon pageant, inspired numerous people, and is a shining light for Jesus. She’s always willing to jump in and help someone. When I spoke to her about this project her response was, “What can I do?” I so appreciate her giving, joyful heart.
Marissa has run races in honor of friends that have passed on and are no longer with us. I admire her for running because she can, knowing that it is a gift, and for remembering those that can’t. In light of that fact would you be willing to donate in memory of a loved one or friend today? Or just donate because you are alive and have today to change another life? Just $10 feeds an orphan for 2 months. Would you be willing to sacrifice some small thing (maybe just a lunch out) so that a sweet child will not go hungry?
Thank you Marissa for being a hero for these children! I am so grateful to know you and I love you. You’re beautiful inside and out.
UPDATE $41,729.90 🙂

Lovely! I just totally adore the color of the dress…. 😉
I do too!
🙂 I’m not a big fan of feathers, but hers are cute!
This is a great idea– the 12 days of Christmas. 😉
You should check out Dorene’s site. It’s AMAZING.
This dress is stunning! I love the color. And I appreciate how modest all of these dresses have been. Beautiful faces, beautiful dresses, beautiful hearts.
🙂
I appreciate the modesty too. 🙂
Love this dress…. it goes so well with Marissa’s hair!
It’s vintage! I have had this dress for a long time. It was my sister’s before I got it. 🙂
Aw… every single model so far has been creative and lovely inside and out! My favorite of Marissa’s pics is the one with the “nest” encircling the skirt… adorable!
Yes, each lady is lovely and amazing!
A friend posted a link to your blog on my facebook page. I have spent the last several hours reading every one of the last 179 days! Wow what a story! You my dear are a beautiful woman both inside and out. I dont know if you have thought of this, but perhaps in your desire to go to India the Lord is keeping you here for a bigger purpose? I know everything happens in his time and according to his will. I pray you make it to India if it be God’s will-If that isnt his will, I pray you will be blessed for your dedication now. This is an incredible project! Dont give up! I have no doubt that you will make the 50,000 and some! On a side note, you are quite the fashionista! I love it!
Also, who is designing and sewing your 12 days of Christmas Dresses?
Respectfully,
Karen (from California)
I am totally humbled, blessed, and amazed that you would take the time to read everything I have written. Thank you for wading through all that! I really appreciate your encouragement. It is such a joy to have people supporting me. Yes, I have thought that God must have me here for a reason and I know that whatever his will is it will be for his glory and my good. By God’s grace I won’t give up! 🙂 So glad you like the fashion! And the 12 day of Christmas dresses were not made specifically for this project.
Wish I could chat with you…
