{Day 204}

Searching tirelessly for rest.  Isn’t that what we do?  Looking for rest for our souls, minds, and these bodies we dwell in.  We wear ourselves out with the searching while all along it is right there for us.  It’s in the pausing that I can see that Jesus is God and I am not.  The laying of my head down that reminds me that I need him.  And if he cares enough to give to his beloved sleep will he not much more give us rest.  For his promises are true.  When we are sluggish with the cares of this life then let us dwell on the words of Jesus, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matt. 11:28)  It is in the coming and the surrender that we give over our burdens to God and there that we find perfect and complete rest.  Not in our doing but in his.

As promised here are some of my kiddos with their new mattresses!  Those beaming faces just made my day and I hope they make your day better too. 🙂  There are still 5 more homes that need mattresses which works out to a cost of about $2,500.  Thanks to all your generous giving 15 homes have been provided for!!!

UPDATE!!! $56,247.54  😀  If you keep donating I’ll certainly keep updating! 🙂  If you want to donate towards mattresses please leave a comment in the box provided on the donation page.  Thanks!

    Such happy faces! This made my day… I maybe you should raise your goal on the sidebar to include the money needed to raise the rest of the mattress price. That way we could see how close we were! Just an idea… It’s nice to have posts with pictures, but better no pictures than no posts! So if you find that they are taking too much time, don’t require them for every post. Another thought is that you could just take a whole bunch of photos one day, and then every time you want to post, just one by one use them up. Then you don’t have to take photos every day, but you have a stock of them to choose from.

      Nicole they make my day too. 🙂 Wellllllll I’m hesitant to raise the goal amount lest I then feel the pressure to see it all come in…hahah Ya know what I mean?
      Great suggestions for posting. Thank you!

    I so needed to hear this today… Thank you, Elaini!

    I’m so happy to see those smiling faces and new mattresses! And I agree with Nicole: I love seeing the pictures, but better posts without pictures than no posts at all. Your words have so often been such a blessing. 🙂

      I’m thankful that it encouraged you in some way. 🙂
      Seeing those smiling faces and knowing that most of my kids have mattresses is very exciting.
      Thanks Bethany! 🙂

    Those words about coming to Jesus for rest ministered to me today. Have a bunch of planning to do for the next couple months regarding school and other stuff, plus the past couple days were tiring…Thanks for the reminder about giving it over to God! I like how you said “When we are sluggish with the cares of life..” It’s true that the daunting tasks we face overburden us and make us lazy at the prospect of starting to work (atleast for me anyway!). Need to work on the surrender part now!

      I’m grateful it ministered to you in some small way. I too need to work on the surrender part! You’re not alone. 🙂
