Grasping the slender shaft with my forefinger and thumb I gently shook it. A single delicate feather, and as I did so every wispy hair danced with grace. A mustard hued pompom of a flower catches my eye. A cup of ruby red tea glistens like a lake of liquid jewels. Slipping the ribbon off a dark chocolate bar and parting the crisp gold wrapping in order to savor the bitter tang on my tongue. Tiny toes between my fingers that feel like wiggly little caterpillars. Yes it is true that I have an exorbitant and slightly ridiculous delight in all the design around me. I feel as if thousands upon thousands of gifts are just waiting for me to discover them and for me squeal with joy as a child would. It is not always this way but I want to live life with wonder filled eyes. What left you in awe today?

Love this and ADORE your reason for doing it! May God bless you immensely as you go on your journey! You were featured at http://rubyeyedokapi.tumblr.com and will again be featured this coming weekend at my personal fashion blog too.
Aww, and thanks for spreading the word. It is so helpful!
Lovely post! It reminds me of Annie Dillard’s line, “There are lots of things to see, unwrapped gifts and free surprises . . . . It’s all a matter of keeping my eyes open . . . .”
I have never heard that quote but I am delighted that you shared it! Isn’t perspective amazing?? If only I could “see” more.
Your post also brings to mind Ann Voskamp’s recent book, “One Thousand Gifts.” It’s a beautifully written challenge to find the grace in absolutely everything that comes our way. Thanks for sharing your journey with us — a true blessing. (And your outfits are absolutely darling, too!)
Thanks! I LOVE that book and have been inspired by it. 😀 Your encouragement is a gift. 🙂
I’m totally in love with this outfit..very lovely!
