{Day 274}

I realized that I needed to do an outfit post since it’s been a little while.  My hair is naturally really straight, especially the day that I wash it, and I never do a middle part but I was inspired by Ali MacGraw’s hair.  To be honest I don’t know anything about her but there’s a classic black and white picture that I’ve seen a few times that I couldn’t get out of my head.  This skirt was a gift for my birthday this year and I’m thrilled with how versatile it is.  You’ll be seeing it again. 🙂  And the sweater is my mom’s from the late 80’s.  (I love stealing clothes from my mum!).  I wasn’t sure how if I liked it with or without the necklace though.  I think I like it better without.  What do you think?  Happy Thursday to you all!

P.S.  Do you have naturally curly or straight hair and do you wear it natural? 🙂  I’m a half and half type of girl.  I like mine straight or curly.  Although when I’m being lazy I go with my naturally straight. 😉

    Ali McGraw is a lovely lady. . .or at least was in the 60s and 70s. She was very famous in those days for being married to Steve McQueen, I think. . who was a bit of a daredevil with his stunts in his action films being all by him and he was a great actor who died very young. She was best known for that movie LOVE STORY where she says, “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” . . which I think is a lie. anyway….She’s still alive and is still lovely for a woman her age without doing surgeries. I see your hair being lovely like hers. You look wonderful.

      Thanks for sharing that! I love learning. 🙂
      Hmm yeah I think that is a lie too….
      That’s neat to know that she’s still alive.
      Thank you! 🙂

    You look quite cozy! It is still too warm down here in the south to wear sweaters and boots, though I am fighting the heat and wearing jeans and light fleece right now 😛

    Well, my hair is unique…it is naturally wavy, but needs a little coaxing to actually wave. It is a little longer in length than yours. If I comb it wet and let it air dry down, I get something that is trying to be straight but isn’t, and ends up really poofy. If I blow dry it, oh gosh, it swells out to three times its volume, which I guess should be a blessing, but after trying several different methods I have decided I just can’t blow-dry my hair 😛 Curling it is way too complicated and not a great use of my time (same with straightening,) plus heat dries out my hair fast, so I try to keep those irons put away until special occasions. So, I twirl or scrunch my damp hair up into a ballerina bun or topknot for short intervals and that brings out the natural wave. I think I prefer waves, but when I do get the chance to straighten my hair I love the silky, sleek feel of it when I run it through my fingers 🙂

      I was! 🙂 Haha that’s so funny that you are fighting the heat and determined to wear jeans and fleece. 🙂 Wouldn’t mind if we had a little more of that here. The rain has officially set in for the winter I believe.

      You’re not alone. I think most of us think our hair is unique and finiky.
      Sounds like you have really pretty hair that is actually easy to style. How nice!

    You are so adorable! And I love your part down the middle look.. very beautiful. And your outfit is so cute as always. 🙂 I have pretty much straight hair, though it has little waves and the shorter hairs curl like crazy when its humid. I never have the patience to curl it so I always just wear it natural.. 🙂

      Thanks sweet sis! You’re wonderful and I love you. You have such pretty, thick hair! Gah it’s lovely.

    Elaini! Goodness you are so pretty and I love your outfit…it’s so simple yet so cute. I’ve been following your blog for over a year now and I just love what you do. 🙂
    I have naturally straight hair but LOVE to have it curled, it just takes a while to do it since it’s about the length of your hair, so I typically leave it straight during the week (as I mostly do stuff around the house) and then curl it on the weekends when I go out. I love to dress up cute and girly when I go out to Bible study on Fridays and sometimes other places on the weekends.

      Aww you are so very sweet. Thank you. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to read my blog and follow along on the adventure that I’m taking. It is so fun to be a curly girly for a day or two. 🙂 Well then I guess that saving the curly look for the weekend makes it extra special. 🙂 I should post a tutorial on how to curl hair quickly…it only takes me about 5 minutes.

        Really? It only takes you 5 minutes to curl your hair? You should definitely post a tutorial on how to accomplish that. It takes me probably 25 to 30 minutes to do mine.

          Yep, although my hair, while long, isn’t that thick. I still think you could do yours a lot faster doing it the way I learned. Okay, we’ll see if I can figure out how to do a tutorial and make it look good… 🙂 Also if you don’t have a Hot Tools curling iron I would HIGHLY recommend you get one. They heat up so fast and are really hot. They make it easy!
