“It’s a terrible thing, I think, in life to wait until you’re ready. I have this feeling that actually no one is ever ready to do anything. There’s almost no such thing as ready. There is only now.” ~ Huge Lauren
“Seeds must be sown everywhere. Only some will bear fruit. But there would not be the fruit from the few had the many not been sown.” ~ Chaim Potok
“May you find shelter beneath the shadow of God’s wing. May you be wise enough to stay in His established space for you, trusting He’ll move you to your next place when the timing is right. May His grace empower you to live abundantly, to stand strong, and to pray powerfully. May your honor for Him compel you to trust Him when your trials seem truer than His Word. He will not fail you, will not forget you. He’s with you in battle, He’ll help you when your heart breaks, and He’ll deliver you and bless you before a watching world when the time is right. Trust Him. You’re so very dear to His heart.” ~ Susie Larson
“It is a narrow mind which cannot look at a subject from various points of view.” ~George Eliot
“We get so worried about being pretty. Let’s be pretty kind. Pretty funny. Pretty smart. Pretty strong.” ~ Britt Nicole
“But mark this: the nature of your calling does not indicate the level of God’s approval of you. And the fact that others have gifts and opportunities you don’t have doesn’t diminish the intensity of God’s intentionality about the things He created you to do.” ~ Steven Furtick
“A little consideration, a little thought for others, makes all the difference.” ~ Eeyore (Winnie the Pooh)

this is one of the best and most profound quotes I’ve seen here. We so often put off beginning or persuing a thing (or a relationsip) until WE think we are “ready”. Most times, though, those “duckies’ will NEVER get round to standing all in a perfect row. Its much like buying an airplane ticket. NOW you’re “all i”, and, ready or not, that plane will lift off whwhether you are on board or at home still packing. But once I’ve bought that ticket, I’ll “get ready” as best I can, then at the appointed time (or close enough to it) I’ll be standing in line taking my shoes off and putting them through the X ray machine. The things I failed to do to “get ready” will simply get left undone… and I’ll be on my way in spite of it.
Back when I photpgraphed weddings on a regular basis, sometimes I’d have to try and calm or comfort a Bride’s Mother who was going crazy about “we’re not ready……”. I’d try and be gentle, but tell ther that you’ve done your best to get ready, some things are left undone that were planned on, but you know what? When her Daddy takes her on his arm and that music crescendoes, its’ time, and ready or not, it is happening. Sort of like a cruise ship leaving port…. once her mooring hawser is sipped, she has left… and whatever is aboard IS, and what is not IS NOT. And the cruise will happen anyway.
I know I’ve “waited till I was ready”, and “missed the boat” many times. And that boat never came back to get me.
Thanks for sharing that Nick. Your illustrations are perfect! I don’t want to “miss the boat”.
