{Day 184 (on the 8th day of Christmas)}

“On the eighth day of Christmas my true love gave to me, eight maids a milking.”

Inspiration wise for this look we went with a bright cherry red dress as a nod to a rosy cheeked maid and instead of doing literal milk maid braids we decided on something more elegant.Β  I really like that the ornaments in the pail are a Christmas take on fresh frothy milk. πŸ™‚

Barely a month ago I had the crazy idea to do this 12 days of Christmas project but I knew that I needed to get on it if I was going to have it happen.Β  Thankfully a dear friend told me I better not think about it too long so I dived in praying that God would somehow provide the ladies to do this project.Β  As many of you saw I put up blog posts but I wasn’t really sure if anyone would respond…thankfully Haley did.Β  Not only is this 21 year old from California beautiful but she is so very sweet.Β  I am really grateful that this lovely woman dedicated her time to helping orphans.Β  Yet this isn’t a new thing for her and her family.Β  They have adopted one adorable little girl from Ethiopia and they are in the process of adopting another child from China.Β  I love her excitement over getting another sibling and that she wants to help the sweet orphans in India as well.Β  So far Haley has raised $800!

Haley I am so proud of you!Β  Thank you for being such a delight to work with.Β  It has been completely wonderful having you be a part of helping me and the orphans.

UPDATE!!!! $42,554.90 πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€Β  Let’s keep it coming! Don’t have a stocking stuffer yet?Β  Why not donate $5 or $10 dollars in someone’s name.Β  Or instead of getting a gift card for those hard to buy for people on your Christmas list why not donate in their name? Seriously you really should. πŸ˜‰

P.S.Β  I couldn’t wait till the 12 days are over to announce that my sister has made me an aunty for the third time last night! I have an adorable chubby NEPHEW and I love him!

    Congratulations! Children are gifts from God. I loved this post, a gown in a barn is so awesome. I often think that the classiest princesses are those that can be beautiful no matter what they are doing or where they are.

      Thank you Grace. πŸ™‚ I think you are completely right about a classy princesses is someone who looks beautiful no matter what they are doing or where they are and Haley proves this.

    I love your creativity with regard to the fundraisers!! I have really been enjoying coming on every day and seeing a beautiful new donator, as well as reading some of your older posts. You see, I am a new visiter who just heard about this because one of my friends is your twelth maiden! But all of this is really close to my heart (I’m praying about opening an orphanage one day… it’s been my lifelong dream) so I was really excited to find an entire group of godly single women that are helping out even in America! I admire the work you are doing by the grace of God. Now I do have a question. If I want to donate to help my friend in your program reach her goal, should I give the money to her? If I just click the donation button, how will she ever know I am helping her get $1000? Thanks for the effort you put into this blog, and for your compassion to these orphans!

      Nicole,
      What a tremendous dream you have. I will keep you in my prayers, asking our Father to continue to refine your vision and prepare you for what He has called you to. Your post is so inspiring.
      To answer your question (I am not speaking for Elaini, but I do have a relationship with this organization), I know that when you press the GIVE NOW button you can leave a message in the comment box. Just mention your friends name and I’m sure they will credit her.
      Bless you for your willing heart.
