{Day 101}

You all are INCREDIBLE!!! We doubled our “funds raised” in 9 days.  NINE DAYS!!!!!! We hit over $30K in 100 days.  Donations are still coming in and since I still have this crazy dream to provide $50,000 for the orphans then let’s make it happen.  I’ve had too many dreams die to not want to fight to get this one. 🙂  But I REALLY need your help still.  If 1,000 people gave $19 dollars we would reach that goal.  That shouldn’t be too hard right?  Not if you help me. 😀  Look what you have already done.  You should be very proud of yourself for being part of this incredible gift we are giving to suffering children!  Children are being placed in homes!!!  Keep donating and I’ll keep updating. 😀 When we’re doing so good why stop?  The dress chapter may be finished but this is a new chapter.

I chose this outfit because I feel like it is the opposite of the dress.  White.  Jeans.  Shorts for summer (if it will ever arrive…).  Honestly it feels weird. On one hand I feel like shouting Hallelujah and on the other hand I think I might just have to wear the dress some today…gatta ease out of this slowly.  Baby steps.  This definitely isn’t the last time you have seen that dress.  In fact you will mostly likely see it in another black dress outfit again this week, but more on that later.  What damage can we do to the total today? 😀  If you didn’t get the chance to donate during the 100 days now’s your chance!

I’ll be working on answering all your lovely comments and emails today.  I do read them all and will respond.  I can’t tell you how awesome you made my day yesterday.  It was incredible!

P.S.  I kept my word to you and didn’t buy clothing in the last 1oo days and I figured out that I spent less than $50 dollars on clothing in over a year.  Man I want to go shopping…!!!

UPDATE: $30,495.36

UPDATE: We actually raised $31,249.25 yesterday. 😀

UPDATE: $31,331.10

I’m glad yesterday was not the last time we’ve seen the black dress! It’s a very versatile outfit. (Summer hasn’t arrived where you are?? It’s definitely summer here…)
Thanks for doing this, Elaini-my sisters and I all enjoyed checking your website every day for the last 60-ish days after we found out about your blog, and I’m sure we’ll keep checking it as long as you keep posting! I hope you can still reach $50,000, even if it didn’t happen in just 100 days!

You are SO sweet and I am very glad you have enjoyed the project and I hope you keep enjoying the blog! I hope we reach $50K too. I know we can!

$30,000! Praise the Lord! That’s awesome! May the Lord bless you. But absolutely keep dreaming and go for it, Elaini! I pray the other $20,000 will come.

BTW, as a photographer myself, I can’t help but tell you that I think your photos were fantastic!

    • misselaini August 9, 2011 at 9:52 pm #

Yes it is very exciting! Everybody is making a huge difference for these children. I am praying the rest will come in too…

Thanks! I have amazing photographer friends who are extremely generous!

I saw you on the Huffington Post! I hope that it brings others to donate to this wonderful cause 🙂

    • misselaini August 9, 2011 at 9:53 pm #

Yes I was very excited about that one! 😀 I’m praying people will donate as a result of that.

Dearest Elaini, what an amazing work that God has done in and through you with this project! I am so proud of you for persevering to the end! I’ve tried to make a donation three times now and it keeps coming up with a credit card error message. Trying to figure out why and how to solve the issue. Want to help you finish well! Bless you friend!

Thank you my dear friend! Congratulations to you too! I can’t wait to meet your new little one. 😀
Hmm I tried the link with two different cards and it is working… would you mind trying again now? If that won’t work then let me know and I’ll figure something out.
      love you!

Elaini, that’s an avaerage of over $313 over the course of 101 days (so far). Not a bad daily wage on behalf of the orphans! You’ve done a fantastic job. Wish I had the means to donate more than once! I saw that someone wrote that this was featured on the Huffington Post. Awesome! What about KLOVE (KLOVE.com web and radio)? Maybe they would feature your cause also. This is like running a marathon–you’ve finished the first 20 miles, now comes the endurance part–keep believing, keep praying, keep asking and posting. You’ll get there. God gave you that $$ goal, you’ll get there. Press on to finish the race. Perhaps I’ll be able to donate again after a bit. Bless you, you’re an amazing young lady of purpose and commitment. To God be the Glory!

    • misselaini August 9, 2011 at 11:08 pm #

Wow. Thank you. I was greatly encouraged by your comment. I appreciate your support and for how you have helped the orphans. Yes I did contact KLOVE but I never really heard much back…
Amen! To God be all the glory!

      • Rachel Joy August 10, 2011 at 6:54 am #

Yeah, we did try to contact KLove about your story, but not much happened!

Anyway, I’m so happy for today’s message that you’re thinking of going to India!!! I’m sure you’ll love it. It’s a beautiful place, although totally different from here!

        • misselaini August 10, 2011 at 8:21 pm #

          Hey thanks for doing that!
Yeah it would be amazing to go and probably VERY surreal…. 😀
