{Day 103}

Progress!  Well I did manage to not wear the dress yesterday but it felt weird not being in it.  Safe to say though that you haven’t seen the last of that dress because it will be making an appearance shortly.  Very shortly.  This has definitely been the year of “the dress”.  You see this all started long before May 1st but I doubt you want the long version of this so I’ll just give you a snippet.  I couldn’t sleep one night.  It was January 8th at 1:15 in the morning and after reading one of my favorite photography blogs I got to thinking about what this young lady had said.  She expressed that the things in her life that she had been the most afraid to do had turned out to be the most rewarding things she had done.  This really hit a chord with me.  I don’t know about you but I like comfort.  Comfortable has a nice ring to it ya know?  Yet I wanted to grow…growth takes stretching and stretching isn’t comfortable…at first.  Here was a dilemma.  Growth or comfort?  Thankfully God helped me pick stretching and thus this project.  Somewhere along the road this thought hit me:  When we are stretched we have a greater capacity to be filled.  Filled with more life.  To live fully brings so much joy.  Isn’t that joy worth going through some pain?  You’ll never know how far you can walk if you never take the first step.  Take that first step and you might soon find yourself running with joy straight towards your goals and dreams that aren’t quite so far off anymore.  Go ahead.  Beware though…you might just surprise yourself. 🙂

I hope to be able to put an update in this post today so please donate! Approximately $5 dollars feeds an orphan for a month…that’s 90 meals. 🙂

        The best friend you could ever have. Who not only gave you this delicious dress, but is also now being cajoled into taking you shopping at H&M. What a saint she is!

          Oh yes of course. 😉 You know you love that store. 🙂 Considering that we haven’t gone I don’t think you have to much to worry about! And thanks for the dress. I like it. 🙂

    These word are so timely Elaini in so many ways. Thank you for your faithfulness to share these words of encouragement and for not stopping this race and running is such a way as to get the prize. I can see you visiting those homes Elaini and will be praying you will be able to go to India. In your weakness He is made strong!

      Thank you Dorene, your comment really blessed and encouraged me. Thank you for your prayers. I love that verse that says that! I appreciate you sharing it. 🙂

    I’ve only recently (as of a month?) found your blog after a friend invited me to a party. I wasn’t able to attend, but I was so thrilled to give to a cause so unique and glorifying to God as well! I can only imagine what amazing lessons this experience has taught you, as well as providing for 1,000s of starving brothers and sisters in India! What a creative Lord we have. 🙂

    Anyway, just wanted to pop my nose in and say that there are a lot more people reading your blog than actually comment, so it’s getting out there. 🙂

    Also, (HAD to ask)… is your hair naturally curly or straight?!

      Hello! Thank you so very much for giving to these sweet children. Yes I have learned all kinds of things that I am trying to process. 🙂 I am so thankful that the Lord allowed me to see this idea and then let me do it. I am delighted that you popped your (I’m sure very pretty) nose in. 😀 You are such an encouragement!
      I’m more than happy to answer: My hair is naturally straight but it does hold curl very well. 🙂
