{Day 135}

I’ve been in a waiting stage since the “end” of the project.  It hasn’t been easy but it has been good for me.  Actively waiting yes, but still waiting.  And this may sound silly but I don’t know what I am waiting for exactly.  Then I read this quote by Ann Voskamp, “Waiting is just a gift of time in disguise- a time to pray wrapped up in a ribbon of patience- because is the Lord ever late?”  That spoke straight to my heart.  I don’t want to miss the gift of waiting.  There is so much beauty in just being fully present where I am right now and taking it all in.  I’d love to hear your thoughts on “waiting” in the comments.  What did you do when you were at a crossroads in your life?

So funny that this is the post I read, as I feel like waiting is something that shouldn’t be and doing is. Thank you for the gentle reminder that waiting too, is a gift from God. How amazing God is, to remind us of these things when we need them the most! He is so good!

Love the dress today! Actually, I think I love all the dresses you wear 😀

Can’t wait until that total tips to $36K!!!

      Happy you like the dresses.
I can’t wait to see it get to $36K too!

I don’t know what else we could do except wait and pray. We can try to move things forward, but they won’t happen unless they’re in God’s plan.
I love this coat your wearing!!!

Yes waiting and praying is so important.
This “coat” is actually a shirt that buttons up the back… but I flipped it around and left the buttons open. 😀

    Great post Elaini.
One of my favorite Bible verses is Micah 7:7
But as for me, I watch in hope for the LORD,
I *wait* for God my Savior; my God will hear me.

Mmm. Thank you for that Amy!

    Dear Elaini,
sometimes waiting is hard okay sometimes it’s “very” hard
but it makes things so much funner when the waiting is over
and then you’d do the waiting all over again just to experience
the fun of the thing you’ve been waiting for waiting it’s just sometimes
so mysterious and exciting also sometimes annoying. May God’s grace pour over you.

:/ I am not very good at waiting. Well, actually, sometimes I can wait and sometimes it is really very hard to wait. W.O.W. did that quote convict me….unfortunately we cannot be perfect on our own, we all need our Savior to change us, to sanctify us. Hope you had a GREAT time at the wedding!
    In Christ,
    ~Madeline~

Yeah that quote convicted me too! Yes we need Jesus to change us!
Had a wonderful time at the wedding. 🙂 Thanks!

Omw, I just reread that quote earlier today! 🙂 In fact, I was messing around in Adobe In Design and I made some little quote cards, including that exact quote!

    • misselaini September 15, 2011 at 12:55 pm #

That’s funny! Really like that you were making quote cards. 🙂

Wow, that quote is so profound. And it makes total sense, while we humans are waiting for God to hurry up, He is saying, “What? It’s not time yet, just relax. I am never late.”

I just started high school. I am very excited because these 4 upcoming years are the last of my school life, and then I get to move onto being an adult. I am very excited about that time and often am tempted to sit and dream about that time rather than enjoying and living the time I am in now.

But something that God has been showing me is how important it is to live moment by moment. How important it is to enjoy each moment, to use each moment. To love life whatever stage you are in. When I get focused only on the future and not on the present, I miss so many opportunities to be like Christ. Jesus was constantly in communication with the Father and every single thing that He did came directly from what God wanted. What would it be like if I could live like that?

    • misselaini September 15, 2011 at 12:54 pm #

It would be amazing if we all lived like that… Sounds like you are learning some wonderful things right now. It’s ok to dream but yes, live in the right now. 🙂 Thank you for sharing!

During crossroads in my life– I usually just pray. — I can’t do anything without God’s help.

P.S. You’re outfit is SO cute!!! Are you on Polyvore?

    • misselaini September 15, 2011 at 12:44 pm #

Yep doing a lot of praying….
      Thanks! Not on Polyvore…should I be? 🙂

      • Jo Kautt September 17, 2011 at 9:00 am #

I guess you should be on Polyvore. It’s cool for “making up outfits”, though it’s basically just for fun. It does help you find clothing items a lot easier than searching the internet randomly!

        • misselaini September 17, 2011 at 10:10 pm #

Hahha! O.K well maybe I will look into it. Although I really don’t need any more online things to do!

          • Johanna Kautt September 18, 2011 at 1:28 pm #

            Yeah, I understand!! 😛

Being a bit distressed and distracted in my daily life, I decided to look for some inspiration from the web. Believe it or not, on a search regarding the Bible Verse “Stand still and know that I am god” (Ps. 46:10), this page came up! Having a glimpse of your the image in page first, I thought first crossed my mind was there comes another ‘chick’ with a blog post of what she wears and what the heck is it doing related to my search query. Then I started reading the post; then the other posts of yours, about your mission and vision. Now I know that you are here not just like any other person; you are here with a purpose and a solid mission. Your posts are rich with the love of God, the Word of God and other inspiring quotes and comments. I am gonna read every post of yours now! For the time being, I don’t even have a penny to offer. (By the way, I am from India and living in India). But I assure you and your good will works my prayers and spiritual supports.

May you shall be a Blessing (Genesis 12:2)

I just have to say that this was a blessing to read and encouraging to hear. Thank you for taking the time to comment and for praying. I really appreciate it. I am excited for what God is doing! I hope you are encouraged by the rest of the posts. 🙂
