{Day 149}

Tissues, tea, and vitamin C… Yep totally sick.Β Β  Thankfully I have no where I need to be and plenty of studying to do.Β  πŸ™‚Β  Sorry if I look a bit peaked in this pic.Β  It kinda went: Click, Sneeze, Click, Sneeze….

Sooooo….I won’t be having any more outfit pictures for a little while after tomorrow…Β  Frankly I need a break but at the same time if I’m completely honest I’m kinda nervous about changing up the blogging style and possibly breaking my streak of posting…the tiny part of me that is competitive (usually only with myself) wants to see how long I can go.Β  Kinda dumb but true.Β  Also I’m concerned that the money for the project might go from slowly dripping in to non existent.Β Β  Annnnd while I’m being completely honest I’m afraid all you wonderful people will just disappear….I’ve sorta become fond of you all. πŸ˜‰Β  Comments??

Hope your week is off to a wonderful start my friends!

P.S.Β  Hope to have an Update for you soon and I hope you like day 150 tomorrow. πŸ™‚

Awww Elaini, we would be sad to see you go! Or at least stop for awhile. But I would totally understand…. I’m sure it is a huge time commitment for each day. Do what you feel God leading you to do, and we’ll be cheering you on! God will provide money! He’s not limited, remember His streets are made of gold! πŸ˜€

    Love always,
    Kim

I’m not leaving! Just changing things up a bit…
Yes it has been a big responsibility (one that I am grateful for) and frankly I don’t want to give half hearted effort to my writing which I feel like I have been doing. Part of me just feels like I ran out…
Thank you for your support! It means so much to me!

    Hi Elaini!
I have enjoyed your posts, outfits and cheering smile during this journey. Don’t worry about disappearing for a while, as long as you come back no one will cry πŸ˜‰
I work in a special needs orphanage in EA, so I really, really appreciate what you’ve done to champion the cause of “those who are NOT forgotten.” Blessings to you (and feel better soon!)

Hannah thank you so much! I can’t tell you how much your comment blessed me.
And don’t worry ’cause I’m not leaving. πŸ™‚
Wow thank you for serving those children. For helping those that are in need…it’s beautiful.

Hey, Just wanted to say, I just found out about you, and I think what you are doing is amazing. If I can do anything then tell me and I’ll see what I can do! God Bless, and great work!

    • misselaini September 26, 2011 at 5:59 pm #

Wow thanks Nathanael! Well if you could get your friends and family and basically anyone you know to donated and spread the word then that would be amazing! πŸ™‚
Appreciate you stopping by and for offering to help. πŸ™‚
      God bless you too.

I will miss you Elaini, but I am a blogger myself and I understand how tiring it is to have to keep to a schedule. I only post twice a week!

It might feel a little bit discouraging with the money right now, but I have faith that God will continue to provide. Who knows, maybe you taking a break will refresh your mind and you can come up with another creative idea to get more media to raise more money. God often accomplishes one task through different seasons in our life. This just may be the beginning of a new season.

    • misselaini September 26, 2011 at 6:01 pm #

I’m not leaving permanently. πŸ™‚ Just maybe going to have a new schedule.
Yes to be honest I have felt a bit discouraged but I know that this is not my project and that God will do with it what he wants. πŸ™‚
Hmm yes a new season. Can’t wait to see what it holds!

    Hi Elaini!!
Sorry to see your posts stop for a while, as I have really been enjoying them, but I know that God will continue to use this ministry for His good purpose. Thank you for all the time you spent writing all the encouraging posts! Hope you feel much better soon! <3

      Hi Amanda!
I’m not going away. I’ll still be posting but just maybe not as much. We’ll see…
I’m blessed that you have enjoyed them and that they have encouraged you. πŸ™‚
Thanks! I’m sure I’ll feel better soon.

Hey Elaini, don’t worry about taking time off from the blogging scene if that’s what God wants you to do. We’ll miss you but as long as you come back and join us again, we’ll be happy! And don’t worry about funds not coming in either, God knows how much you want the 50K for these kids. His power and might is not limited. Look how far He’s brought you from where you started! Don’t lose sight of that goal.
Habakkuk 2:3 says “This vision is for a future time. It describes the end, and it will be fulfilled. If it seems slow in coming, wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed.”

On another note, I’m working on putting together a party to benefit your project! Feel better soon and keep up the faith that God’s given you!

    In Him,
    ~Alesha

Yes I’ll be here still. πŸ™‚
Thanks for sharing that verse and for being so encouraging!
Can’t tell you how excited I am about your party!! I hope you have lots of fun and I would love to see pictures and hear all about it when you throw it. πŸ˜€
      Blessings to you! xxx

We’ll be here, whether you take a break or you stick around for awhile. Whatever you feel the Lord laying on your heart, you do. We won’t stop loving for it…in fact, we’ll love you even more! πŸ˜€

Laura you’re wonderful. Thank you! So so blessed…

Oh Elaini, I’m sorry to hear you are sick! It’s understandable that you need a break after 150 days, for sure–though I confess it’ll be sad not being able to read your updates each day.
Your posts actually mystify my sisters and me; we often wonder how you always have them up so early in the morning…we have not once checked your blog and found that the day’s picture and thoughts were not there. Good job with that! (How DO you do it, though…if you can tell us?!)
I don’t comment on your posts very often, but thank you for posting so faithfully every day. Thank you for stepping out in faith and doing what God called you to, despite the difficulties!

I’ll be better soon hopefully! Yes I just need to change things up. 5 months is a long time to blog every day…but it has also been such a joy.
Hahha! You aren’t the first one to ask about that…hmm kinda a secret. πŸ˜‰ It’s actually pretty easy and a bloggers best friend! One word (schedule).
Thank you for commenting! I love hearing what everyone has to say. πŸ™‚
I’m the one that has been so blessed through this whole thing.

  9. Sofia September 26, 2011 at 3:35 pm #

    Elaini,
I am sure you’re tired from blogging for 150 straight days and I’m sure your cold adds to the stress. I hope you feel better soon! I’m praying for you! πŸ˜‰ Don’t worry about your disappearance, we will all still be here for you! It has been delightful to read your wonderful and though-provoking posts every day, and to get to know you a little bit. (As a side note, I agree with Melody, I am mystified as to how you always have your posts up early in the morning! It takes me until like 4:00 in the afternoon before I ever post anything on my blog. :D) Don’t worry about the money. God knows how much you want to raise it for those dear children. Everything is in His hands and always will be! Never loose sight of His goodness. If the money has stopped for a little while, God has a reason for it. Maybe He wants you to trust Him for the rest of it.

Thank you for being such a wonderful example!
Oh, and I’m writing for a HS Newspaper and I’m going to ask our editor if I can add a small post about you. Hopefully some money will come in. πŸ˜€

    Love,
    ~Sofia πŸ˜‰

Thank you Sofia! You are so sweet. I am grateful you have gleaned something from my posts.
Yep not going to worry about the money. πŸ™‚
Oh wow that would be great! Thank you for thinking of that creative idea and trying to do something about it. Love that.

I’m so sorry it’s slowed down so incredibly much.. and I’m sure that’s seriously discouraging and trying. I’m praying for you and that more will come in to help your beautiful orphans! I’m working on a fundraising party for you – right now I’m stuck on getting a date that works for all my friends, but I promise I won’t give up. πŸ™‚ You’re an inspiration.

    • misselaini October 3, 2011 at 12:14 am #

Wow that is so encouraging to hear that you are going to throw a party!!! Really excited about it and can’t wait to hear how it goes. πŸ˜€ Thank you for your efforts on behalf of the orphans.

  14. HannahR October 4, 2011 at 3:53 pm #

I fully admire how long you’ve gone already… I started a blog with a total of ONE entry πŸ˜€ Haha, but no one knows about it yet, so once they do, I *might* post more often.
So yeah, you’ve shown so much strength already, and I can fully understand how you might feel like you’re writing from your head instead of heart somedays, out of lack of inspiration or desparation.. that’s just human!! I would SO do the same (probably a lot). It’s so easy to do, and no one knows….. lol.

You’ve CHANGED LIVES…. overseas and here. You’ve actually DONE it, already!! That’s something most of us can not boast. At least, if we have done, we might not see the evidence, but you can! You know about these kids that have known no kindess before.

Anyway, be blessed, and refreshed… take a break because that’s good for us. Do something different each day… and watch some clouds πŸ™‚

Hannah thank you so much for your encouragement! I really appreciate it. It feels better not having to blog everyday. It is still on my mind though frequently! πŸ˜‰
I am grateful and blessed to see that it is changing these children’s lives.
I like that “go watch some clouds”. πŸ™‚ I might have to modify that for where I live with rain clouds. πŸ˜‰
